Smartness is just like height!
Some people have more of it than others but nobody wants to be told, that they're not as smart as someone else. This is why we're quite defensive when we don't score highly on the IQ test, because it represents the possibility that we may not be as smart as others, Though I'm not a great fan of IQ tests myself and believe that they don't reflect true intelligence or summon smartness
Four vital signs that Smart people reflect in their personality and day to day dealings and if you're someone who either thinks that they're Super Smart or Not Smart enough then read this till the end and see if you reflect these signs and fourth sign is the most interesting,one so keep watching
1. You recognize other Smart people
It only takes one smart person to recognize another smart person. At first you might think Hey! if i can tell someone is smart does that mean I'm smart too?
Well, Yes and No, If you're able to point to someone and recognize them as smart, because of a smart thing that they did then that alone doesn't prove the point, but if you would have also done that thing in a similar way then that means you're also a smart person. Let me explain,
For example: You're in a meeting with a bunch of people and someone explains a very complex and boring topic in a really simple and interesting way and while other people's immediate reaction after hearing it is how dare you take away the complexity of this but,you are thinking well it's as simple as it gets and that's exactly how i would like to explain it. Then it's a sign of smartness in you.
2. You bring Out of the box ideas to solve problems
Albert Einstein said, I have no special talents but i am passionately curious. Smart people are curious people and they bring out of the box ideas.In fact for them there is no box and they don't even shy away from questioning. Take an example of Iphone. Before iphone was launched Motorola phones were considered cool and top of line and some of their phones were incredibly thin like Moto razr which was the main reason people,bought Motorola phones. And if we had continued down that way of thinking then our phones would now be as thin as sheets of paper. But all they would be able to do is make,calls and just the basic stuff. Luckily Steve Jobs,had a different vision for what a cell phone could be he thought. If we could combine our phones and computers into a single device. So he developed the iphone. The iphone may not be the first smartphone but it was the first smartphone that was adopted by mass market. This in turn allowed Android phones to take off, while most people were thinking how to make phones smaller. Apple was thinking how phones could revolutionize the way we live and this is what thinking outside of the box can do.
3. Smart people are objective
Smart people are very good at separating facts from opinions and they're very objective in everything that they do. They don't just believe something someone tells them. They carry out their own research into things and they do it for fun. If there's a topic that they're curious about there is something inside them that compels them to go deep into it and that's fun for them.
For example, If you're an entrepreneur and one of your employees builds a great product or at least that was the thing that it's a great product and they present the product to you, in one of the meetings. That's how it will destroy the competition and will sell great and then you have one of your other employees who thinks this product is a bust and won't sell some people basis what they believe themselves will side with one of these employees and that's what their opinion will be,too but smart people would first gather facts. Maybe put the product out in the market for six months and see how market responds to it because that's when you will have facts to back up your opinion and honestly without the facts opinions aren't necessarily true. Smart people realize that
4. If you're smart then you also know in which ways you're smart or in which ways you're smarter than others.
This is my favorite one, Have you ever wondered that while you keep calling yourself smart. Do you even know in which ways you're smart and what really makes you think you're smart is because you compare yourself with someone who you think is not smart but the question is... How so are you able to solve x types of problems quicker than other people or Is it that your answer to the why questions is always smarter than others knowing. Exactly what makes you smart can be a very difficult thing to do, but if you really are a smart person then you know in which ways you're smart because there's no such thing as being overall smart. I may be smarter than you, If you ask me questions about Maths and Science but when it comes to Biology i don't think i'm too smart so if you don't know the areas in which you're smart then it's either because you're not actually smart or you are smart but you never thought about what exactly makes you smart which is something that you should do to close the gap.
So these are the Four signs that i feel are the signs of smart people. All these points are purely my opinion but backed by hundreds of sources with credible research online. There are definitely more signs of smartness but these are some of the Top ones.
